Pennsylvania Family Council is a leading pro-family advocacy organization working to promote the sanctity of life, religious freedom, and strong marriages and families—the foundational building blocks of society. As a trusted presence in Harrisburg and beyond, the Council works strategically at the local, state, and federal levels to influence legislation, equip voters, and speak biblical truth into the public square.
The Council partners closely with the Pennsylvania Family Institute, offering a one-two approach to cultural impact: while the Institute focuses on research, education, and public engagement, the Council is positioned to advocate directly for legislation and policy. It also provides timely voter education through comprehensive voter guides and mobilizes Christian voters in key elections.
At the forefront of this mission is Michael Geer, the founding President and CEO of the Pennsylvania Family Institute. With over three decades of leadership, Michael has become a respected voice on life, family, and religious liberty issues. He regularly speaks in churches and conferences and serves on the boards of national organizations such as Family Policy Alliance, the public policy partner of Focus on the Family.
Michael’s background in media and public policy equips him to lead with clarity and conviction. Prior to founding the Institute, he served as Senior News Producer at WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh and worked with ABC News in Washington, D.C. He holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Regent University and a B.A. in American History from the University of Maryland.
Michael and his wife have been married for over 40 years and are the proud parents of five children and grandparents to six grandchildren.
