Bruce and Deborah Crowe have been serving in Eastern Europe since 2008 as International Directors of MIR Ministries, overseeing a wide range of projects across Ukraine and Romania. Their passion is to see lives transformed by the love of Jesus, with a particular focus on mentoring the next generation and caring for the most vulnerable.
MIR Ministries is committed to meeting both spiritual and physical needs. The Crowes lead teams that serve more than 500 widows in over 25 villages, providing visitation, food distribution, and housing support while sharing stories of hope and resilience. They also minister to at-risk families, operate educational and mentorship programs, and provide emergency relief and refugee care, responding to crises with compassion and practical support.
A central initiative of MIR is the Lighthouse, a missional platform designed to engage youth and young adults in meaningful spiritual and cultural experiences. Lighthouse Ukraine began as a pizza and coffee shop and has grown into a hub for mentoring, community-building, and outreach to widows, at-risk families, and students. Lighthouse Romania, located in Cluj-Napoca, offers an open event space in the heart of the university district, fostering creative engagement and spiritual awareness in a culturally relevant way.
Through these ministries, MIR creates spaces where people experience belonging, hope, and the love of Jesus. Bruce and Deborah, along with local teams, continue to pioneer initiatives that impact communities, develop future leaders, and demonstrate Christ’s compassion in practical ways throughout Eastern Europe and beyond.
